Back to The Start
Poorboy Boutique is a Hull-based vintage store who sell clothing items both in-store and online. Having worked with our digital marketing agency for a while, in early 2019 the client came to us to work on a new project – a new website.
Knowing the value of digital marketing and having a strong online presence, Poorboy wanted to redesign their website to push Poorboy Online, the ecommerce side of their business.
Poorboy Boutique were looking for an easy-to-navigate site and loved the style of ASOS Marketplace and similar websites. Our web design specialists got to work, producing a series of bespoke visuals to reflect our client’s style.
We don’t believe in ‘off the shelf’ website templates, the website needed to be as unique as our client. After the initial sign-off, we built completely bespoke templates for Poorboy which were designed mobile-first to have a responsive layout on all devices. This also meant their website would comply with Google’s SEO standards.
To give users a seamless experience that would allow them to make a purchase in just a few clicks, we built a product system that is adaptable for different variables. Training was provided by our team to ensure our client is able to upload new products and alter prices and product descriptions without the need of a developer.
The new website also features card payments by First Data, a leading financial technology provider, as well as PayPal integration for easy and secure purchases. Our web design specialists built the site using WordPress due to its user-friendly CMS and incorporated WooCommerce.
Launched December 2019, the website has already started to demonstrate a great ROI with over 1.3k website views per month. Our analytics show that a whopping 59.5% of users are browsing from a mobile device, proving the importance of having a mobile-first design that doesn’t let your customers down when it comes to responsiveness on a smaller screen.
With 76% of the website traffic being organic, we are excited to look at different avenues for SEO strategies for Poorboy Boutique to further increase the results they are seeing.
