Developed by Moz, Domain Authority is essentially a metric which provides insight into how well your website is ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) and how it is performing in comparison to other websites of the same niche. Domain Authority works on a ranking scale of 1 to 100 and the higher your score is, the more your website is predicted to rank. According to Moz<\/a>, DA is best used as a comparative tool as opposed to a concrete score and it can be used to compare competitor websites.<\/p>\n

Typically, websites with a high volume of good quality links such as Wikipedia are at the top of the domain scale whereas sites for smaller organisations with fewer inbound links will score lower. There are several factors that contribute to the overall DA score including; link root domains, link equity and diversity, the number and quality of backlinks and the domain age.<\/p>\n

Recently Moz upgraded it\u2019s Domain Authority scoring, integrating a Spam Score Metric and monitoring over 35 trillion links to better measure link quality.
