Elon Musk apparently has reconsidered his interest in acquiring Twitter, again. He is now willing to move forward with the proposed takeover of the social media platform.
We all know Mr. Musk is a character with some interesting plans. It’s not any different with his Twitter goals, here are a few of his rumored aims after buying the social media platform.
Adding an edit button
HALLELUJAH! If you use Twitter regularly, it’s almost certain you’ve sent a tweet out with an incorrect spelling and/or grammar mistake. But, that’s okay right? Surely you just edit the post. No, it’s not that simple. With Twitter, you have to delete your post and rewrite the whole thing. It is such an easy feature to implement into the app, but Twitter seems to like the controversy around this as they’ve never changed it. Elon would be a hero for adding this simple ‘edit’ button.
Staff cuts
The Washington Post reported that Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and founder of SpaceX, has proposed to investors that he will cut nearly 75% of Twitter’s staff if he acquires the company. In addition, the company is already planning to make significant cuts and trim payroll by about $800 million by the end of next year.
‘Everything app’
After reviving plans to buy the social media company for $44 billion, Elon Musk said that he would turn Twitter into an “everything app.” Mr. Musk, who is worth $220 billion, gave no details of what his “X” app would look like but claimed buying Twitter “accelerates X by three to five years, but I could be wrong.”
What could “X” be?
Well, what couldn’t it be? We know how Musk can create new ideas, the sky really is the limit with him. All we know so far is that Musk said earlier this year that he is looking for inspiration from WeChat, a Chinese social media juggernaut that is one of the largest super apps in the world.
Elon has proposed many ideas relating to his Twitter takeover, but what changes will he make if the sale goes through?
